Hmm, figured it out. I purchased Samorost 2, and when I get the the part with the big blue guy, I am not able to move the sausage. I just went and tried the same thing through IExplorer and I am able to move it just fine. Seems there is a bug on the downloaded version maybe.

I ended up just playing the web version and getting the next level's code. Then I just went to samorost2.com and got the level code for the next level and continued with the downloaded version. Never had anymore problems other than that one issue. I even went and download flash and shockwave to make sure I was all up to date, still to no avail. Barman - with Windows, it's anybody's guess what's wrong, but I'd start with making sure your OS has all of the Windows Updates applied, including the latest Service Pack. If that doesn't help, then I would try downloading the game again in case it was corrupted somehow during download.

For those having problems with the downloaded chapter 2, open the supplied .exe file only and use the load level feature to get to your 2nd chapter. It doesnt seem to work by just opening the swf's. Programmer must have some variable declarations in the first intro that breaks the dog-parachute issue.

Right after I got eaten by the blue guy, and I freed my guy and his doggie, and went to the elevator, the game just goes black. I think it's supposed to transition to a new level...but is it the end of this part? I thought there might be more to it! At least, some kind of ending! Did this happen to anybody else?

While not great on the $/hour ratio, I'm still glad I bought the 2nd bit, just to support the guy. $9.90 for an hour's worth of game isn't great, but if you count all 3 samorost bits and call it an artwork, it's very good value :)

I played through the free version of this, and thought it was short, so I think the extra chapter probably wouldn't be worth the money. But I'd happily pay 20 or 30 to play a much longer version of this.

But if you think in the terms how great Samorost 1 was and that the guy gave Chapter 1 of Samorost 2 for free (when he could've charged for all of it) AND that by buying Chapter 2 you will help the guy make more quality games like this in the future, than I don't think it's too much money.

i read your review of samorost2 today and i am glad it was positive. i would like to notice you that it is not only one Tomas Dvorak responsible for all of the audio(as you state in your review)...BUT there have been two different persons with exactly the same name working on Samorost2. One Tomas Dvorak (nick: floex) made music. Second one (nick: pif = me :) worked on sound effects (also in Samorost1).

As far as paying for "art" how do we expect art to be created. Michaelangelo had sponsors who paid him a lot more than the price of a game to create art that survives to this day. I realize that the game creators may not be Michaelangelo, but they still create art in their way. Whoever says that art should be free needs to look back at history.
