The training we provide is for dental assistants who want to advance their education to become a Expanded Function assistant, Orthodontic assistant, or to get radiology certified. Dental Assisting Radiology Health and Safety

Fees: $850 Fee includes $100 nonrefundable registration fee, DANB practice exam questions to prepare for the state board exam and learning materials. This course prepares students to sit for the (DANB) Dental Assistant National Board exam in (RHS) radiation health and safety. ( XCP) extension cone paralleling equipment and dental xrays will be provided to the students to get hands on training. Students will get hands on training learning how to operate xray equipment in the lab. Students will get hands on training learning how to take xrays . (This class can by offered Online/Skype with a live instructor). Requirement: 18 years of age, high school diploma or GED. Class meets for 5 weeks on a Friday or Saturday 9am-2pm or Monday /Wednesday 6pm-9pm . Online class at student convenient. We also offer refresher course in dental radiology for students who need to renew their license. 8 hour review $250, 12 hour review $190, 16 hour review $200 (if failed the RHS exam twice) 24 hours of class time.

Expanded Functions

Fees: $1,975 fee includes $100 nonrefundable registration fee, DANB practice exam questions to prepare for the state board exam and learning materials. Successful completion of this course enables the student to sit for the Maryland Qualified Dental Assistants Examination and to perform general expanded duties as specified by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. Students will get hands on training learning how to use instruments in our fully equip dental laboratory. Requirements 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalency, and a signature of employing dentist on the application verifying employment . Class meets for 7 weeks on a Saturday 9am-2pm or Monday /Wednesday 6pm-9pm 35 hours of class time. This class includes 35 hours of class time with a combination of lecture and hands-on training in the fully equipped dental laboratory. After completing this class, the student will be eligible to sit for the Dental Assistant National Board. Once the course is completed, the assistant may NOT continue to perform these duties until the required boards are passed and state certificate received. Students should also REGISTER AS A DENTAL ASSISTANT QUALIFIED IN GENERAL DUTIES in Maryland.

Orthodontic Expanded Functions

Fees: $1,975 fee includes $100 nonrefundable registration fee, DANB practice exam questions to prepare for the state board exam and learning materials. This course is for dental assistants who want to prepare for the orthodontic Dental Assistant National Board Exam (DANB). Students will get hands on training learning how to place ortho appliance on a manikin in our fully equip dental laboratory, students will get hands on training learning how to use instruments and take impressions of teeth for study models to make orthodontic appliance. The employing dentist must sign the application verifying employment. Class meets for 7 weeks on a Saturday 9am-2pm or Monday /Wednesday 6pm-9pm 35 hours of class time This class includes 35 hours of class time with a combination of lecture and hands-on training in the fully equipped dental laboratory. After completing this class, the student will be eligible to sit for the Dental Assistant National Board. Once the course is completed, the assistant may NOT continue to perform these duties until the required boards are passed and state certificate received. Students should also REGISTER AS A DENTAL ASSISTANT QUALIFIED IN GENERAL DUTIES in Maryland.

Dental Practice Management

$1,055 includes $100 nonrefundable registration fee, The in-depth lecture course is designed to provide front desk personnel with basic knowledge and skills of dental office administration. Learn to be more effective with business management , patient communication, collection, records, charting, scheduling. Students get hands on training using dental office software. Total course 4 weeks. Class meet by Skype twice a week and twice a week in the training center.

General Chairside Assistant

$1,975 includes $100 registration fee, lab equipment, and practice questions to prepare students to take the DANB. This class will teach students how to:
  • Demonstrate understanding of preliminary physical examination, diagnostic aids, treatment documentation.
  • Identify medical conditions that can cause medical emergencies or cause complications during dental care and respond to complications, and preventative measures used to avoid drug-induced and/or drug interaction emergencies.
  • Identify basic oral and dental anatomy, and physiology.
  • Master the skills of charting and treatment planning.
  • Demonstrate understanding of patient management and oral health information to be provided to the patient.
  • Demonstrate understanding patient, reception communication, and accounting. As well as understanding of legal records, legal responsibilities and regulations and how to maintain and control supplies.
  • Demonstrate understanding of impression, restorative/dental and laboratory materials and procedures.
  • Demonstrate understanding of four-handed dentistry technique, select and prepare armomentorium for chairside dental and/or emergency dental procedures, assist with performing intraoral procedures.
  • Select and prepare ormomentorium used for pain management and identify signs and symptoms of dental conditions/emergencies.
This class includes 35 hours of class time with a combination of lecture and hands-on training in the fully equipped dental laboratory. After completing this class, the student will be eligible to sit for the Dental Assistant National Board. Once the course is completed, the assistant may NOT continue to perform these duties until the required boards are passed and state certificate received. Students should also REGISTER AS A DENTAL ASSISTANT QUALIFIED IN GENERAL DUTIES in Maryland.
Re licensure Requirement Class Offered: Hands On Dental Assistant Training LLC offers approved courses by Academy of General Dentistry/Pace and the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiner
  • P.A.N.D.A. (2 CEUs) Abuse and Neglect Prevention Through Dental Awareness This course is developed to educate hygienists, dentists, dental assistants, and staff members regarding neglect and child abuse, elder abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Under this program, participants learn to determine the indicators of this type of abuse while informing them of their legal and ethical duties in reporting and referring victims.
  • Infection Control (2 CEUs) The program is specialized to help complete the annual training requirement needed for MOSH and provide continuing education credits for infection control required by the Maryland dental re-licensure.
  • 8 Hour Radiation Safety Update (8 CE Credits) This course is designed in compliance with Maryland 8-hour requirement for recertification for dental assistants.
  • CPR for the dental team This training is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve adult, child and infant choking in a safe, timely and effective manner
